Power in "The Write-Up"

There is a reason why teachers push the envelope of Duties and Responsibilities. It's because they have gotten away with it before and figure it's easy to do it again.

In this day in question, teacher A shares with several colleages the poor choices in the cafeteria for the day's lunch. The concurrence of the teachers encourages one to sneak out of the building for lunch. This teacher know is a violation of their daily schedule. Nevertheless, they gather their money and send teacher A out on the mission of retrieving lunch.

When teacher A returns with several packages, teacher A can't reach the handle of the door to re-enter the building. Low and behold the Principal happens to walk by the door. "You have your hands full I see!" Teacher A immediately begins the apologetic jargon, but to no avail.

Principals, this is where the Power in the write up occurs.
* If this is a first offense, you can turn the other way, acknowledge the act, and use the write up threat as your future trump card.
* If this is a repeat offender, you have to use the write up to eradicate the culture of sneaking that can run rampant overnight.

Never loose your authority by never using your power to write up wrong in your building.

Use it or loose them.
